Hey Guys,

as you have presumably already recognised in the headline, the reason for the journal entry is pretty simple. I finally broke through the wall of 10 000 pgvs.

Therefore I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for dropping by, faving, watching and especially commenting on my works.
It truly makes me happy to see, that even though I am (with my 8 drawings in 16 months) not really one of the most active deviants here, still so many made it here.

I am really touched by the popularity of "Sanity" in particular, that surpassed all expectations I had when I started with the drawing (15,936 views, 742 favs and 373 comments). Back then I was just overwhelmed by the expression of the reference photo by mehmet turgut so that I couldn't help but to start drwaing it.
2 weeks later I almost put it to the scrap paper since I still had no answer of mehmet turgut regarding my request-note for his approval for using it as a reference.
But then I decided that it shouldn't end like that and started a last attempt, I submitted a WIP of the drawing and wrote another request with a link to the WIP (and the annnouncement that I would delete it again if he doesn't agree with it), this time in his messege box on the front page of witch I knew that he was reading it.
When I logged in the next day I already came up with many eventualities regarding his reply, but that he would fav my drawing and ask me not to stop was definitely not one of them.
I don't knwo how it feels to get a DD, but when you are small fry with twothousand pageviews like me and there comes this guy with over twomillion pageviews to fave one of your drawings, then that's qutite something!
Well I tried to make the best out of it, decided to submit it for the "villians" contest of the portraitpencilart-club where it actually made the 3. place.

Unfortunately many months passed since this submission in which I couldn't find the time to draw. Maybe in two months I will have enough spare time again for another project. I am still learning and though I tried to use in every drawing a different technique there are still many to go.


But enough of the talk, I announced a special. Even though I was not able to create a new drawing, I wasn't totally inactive. I made a new account for photography only, that can be found here : ~Salman-Fides. hope you like the shots

About an hour ago I uloaded a drawing of Allison Stokke ... not knowing who i drew in fact.
After reading the backgrounds of the reference photo I decided to delete the drawing again.

"They stole my boddy"

On the one side I really feel sorry for her that she got so much unwelcomed popularity.
But on the other hand I think that if she intended to stay unknown to the world, she somehow chose the false profession.
If you want to become a proffesional in sports you have to reckon to become famous. Even more you have to do everything to become popular since sport lives of nothing but spectators.

And last but not least the quote "THEY stole my boddy" is completely wrong. In my opinion she already sold her body long ago when she modeled for t-shirts.

Nevertheless if she doesn't want the popularity then there won't be a drawing of her by me here on deviantart.

Still I am curious your opinion about the whole story.

Hey Folks,

Good things first, tommorow i will go on vacation for the first time in 2 years now, so I wont be able to answer to anything for the next 2 weeks.

Bad thing is, that I recently had an accident where a car disregarded the priority and crushed into me (on a bike). Luckily I wasn't hurt too bad, but nevertheless lost (besides my trousers and a jacket) some skin of my hand. It left a pretty nice scar over the "livelines" of my palm, would be quite interesting to hear what a fortune teller would say about it
Basically it meant that I couldn't draw for over week and therefore there will be no Charlize Theron by me.

Anyways to all the ones of you who are participating, good luck. I will definitely keep an eye on the entries

Hey Folks,

Quite some time passed since my last journal entry and deviation. And though I found a new object to draw and bought bigger paper already 2 months ago I wasn't able to do one single pencil stroke yet. But at least there are only 3 weeks left until my first holidays for a year!

And there are even more good news, I finally managed to buy a camera and its an really interesting media to work with. But I am not sure yet if I will submit any of the photos on this account or maybe create a new one for photos only.

Oh and not to forget, I won the 3. place of 's villians contest.

It's really insane! In just 3 days my pageviews jumped to another thousand ... for the first thousand it took 113 days o.O

Currently I am looking forward for the results of the "villians" contest on which is ending today. There are almost 50 great entries that are absolutely worth taking a look at!
